For over three decades, the American Progressive Telugu Association has been the leading voice of Telugu-Americans — uniting families, empowering communities, and preserving our rich cultural heritage.

Our Mission

To serve Telugu communities across America by helping the poor and needy Telugu students with their educational expenses, preserving Telugu culture and heritage, empowering women, providing healthcare outreach, and building a strong support network that uplifts every generation.

History & Milestones

From humble beginnings to a nationwide movement serving thousands of Telugu families.

2008

APTA Founded

A group of visionary Telugu-Americans established APTA to unite and serve the growing Telugu diaspora across the United States.

1992

First Convention

APTA hosted its inaugural national convention, bringing together hundreds of Telugu families for cultural celebration and community dialogue.

1998

ASEP Scholarship Program Launched

The APTA Student Education Program was established, providing merit- and need-based scholarships to Telugu students nationwide.

2004

Regional Chapters Expansion

APTA expanded its regional chapter network across major metropolitan areas, ensuring local community engagement from coast to coast.

2010

AWEP & Women Empowerment

The APTA Women Empowerment Program and Sthree Dhanam initiative were launched to uplift and empower Telugu women in America.

2015

Medical Camps Reach 100+

APTA's free medical camp program surpassed 100 camps across the nation, providing essential health services to thousands of community members.

2020

NextGEN Youth Programs

APTA launched NextGEN to engage second-generation Telugu-Americans through leadership development, cultural arts, and community service.

2024

AI-Powered Digital Transformation

APTA embraced cutting-edge technology with an AI-powered platform for intelligent community services, job matching, and multilingual support.
